Why Choose It?
Enable NTFS read-write access immediately
Plug and Write: No configuration needed after driver installation. NTFS disks support direct reading and writing, delivering a native-level operation experience.
Second-level Mounting: Activate the driver with one click from the menu bar, and complete permission configuration in three steps.
Zero Reboot Interruption: Intelligently adapts to the system. Rarely requires a reboot during first installation—ready to use right after setup.
Enable seamless collaboration between Mac and Windows drives, and bid farewell to the "read-only" era once and for all!
Mount the Windows drive as a local drive
When macOS starts or restarts, this tool can automatically mount Windows NTFS volumes in read/write mode. It mounts Microsoft Windows volumes as physical rather than virtual volumes, making them visible in Disk Utility on the desktop.
Managing mounted NTFS drives is no different from managing local drives. You can perform various file management operations on NTFS drives, such as tagging files, moving files with drag-and-drop, syncing files, and even using them as storage for Time Machine backups.
Compatible with external hard drives of various brands
Given the widespread use of the Windows operating system in today's computer market, most external hard drives are usually pre-formatted with the NTFS file system. CrossDriverNTFS can support almost all brands of external hard drives, including Samsung, Western Digital, Seagate, Toshiba, and more.
Compatible with macOS and OS X
Due to copyright and licensing issues, macOS disables write support for NTFS by default. This means you can only open and view files on Windows drives, but cannot edit or write to them. NTFS provides full read and write access to NTFS volumes for macOS versions such as 15 (Sequoia), Sonoma, Ventura, and Monterey. Additionally, for older OS X systems, NTFS for Mac also offers compatible solutions through a separate email support channel.
Fully compatible with Apple M1/M2/M3/M4 chips
Apple's M1, M2, M3, and M4 chips are all based on the ARM architecture, while macOS natively only supports NTFS file systems in "read-only" mode. To enable read and write operations on NTFS-formatted disks on Mac computers equipped with these chips, third-party software is required. It supports macOS versions from 10.13 High Sierra to the latest macOS Sequoia, and is perfectly compatible with Apple chips such as M1, M2, M3, and M4.
Supports formatting drives to NTFS on Mac
In macOS's built-in Disk Utility, the Microsoft NTFS file system typically does not support formatting operations, with only common file systems such as APFS, HFS+, FAT32, and exFAT being supported. This program, however, breaks through this limitation by expanding the formatting options for NTFS, allowing users to directly format drives to the NTFS file system on Mac.
Enable read and write operations on BootCamp NTFS partitions on Mac
By default, Boot Camp NTFS partitions only support read-only mode on Mac, which limits users from fully utilizing the entire hard drive's storage space. NTFS for Mac can mount Windows Boot Camp partitions with full read and write permissions, allowing users to easily exchange files across platforms between Mac and Windows and make full use of disk space.
Compare and select
To help you better understand and select the right software, the following comparison table is provided. You can determine for yourself which software can provide your Mac with read and write access to NTFS drives in a safe, stable, and fast manner.
